Tailored fire engineering design for a highly complex building
This state of the art headquarters for the Australian Red Cross Blood Service is housed within the shell of an existing 1920’s warehouse located on Batman Street, West Melbourne. The existing brick warehouse building required significant work to bring it up to current building regulations.
The performance solution was this four storey development included open stairs stairs interconnecting vast floor plates and adoption of the large-isolated building provisions.
In addition to these provisions the existing warehouse required significant work to meet current standards considering the proposed mix of building classifications; laboratories, offices and car parking.
