Fire safety audits and key stakeholder engagement at the forefront
This $31 million redevelopment consists of a new four storey ward building and upgrade works within the existing hospital including new theatres, additional recovery bays and theatre support accommodation, and refurbishment of existing patient bedrooms and the internal atrium spaces.
A three level glazed walkway connects the new and existing buildings and forms an architectural feature showcasing the newly modelled entrance area.
A key focus of these works was to understand the existing facilities provisions and level of compliance, and how that sub-system impacts on the fire safety strategy proposed. This was achieved via a fire safety audit along with key stakeholder consultation with the County Fire Authority (CFA).
