Performance engineering addressing the complex and high risk needs of an airport
This project consisted of the Pier C departure upgrades in Sydney airport which included the in-filling of voids between levels, new penetrations between levels, removal of interconnected stairs and geometry changes of existing smoke zones.
Utilising a range of project experience, these works were reviewed to understand their impact on the existing smoke hazard management and egress strategies.
Following a site inspection and a thorough review of the existing fire engineering reports, a series of design recommendations were provided to the design team which ensured that the intent of the base building fire safety strategy was achieved.
